Prachurya champion, Soundarya runner-up

Well-known Pradhan brothers of Boden (Odisha) won the top two positions in the National Open Fide Rated Chess Tournament for the Blind, which concluded at Nabadwip in West Bengal today. Prachurya Pradhan and his younger sibling Soundarya tied for the top spot with 8.5 each from nine rounds.
However, Prachurya took the title and a cash prize of Rs 8,000 by virtue of his higher tie-break score, while Soundarya settled as runner-up, which fetched him of Rs 6,000. The duo won eight games apiece and drew the remaining one against each other.
Altogether 93 players participated in the four-day tournament, which was organised by Bengal Chess Association for the Blind.
